Watercress Salad With Strawberries

- 2 bunches watercress
- 1 1/2 cups strawberries
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- Freshly ground black pepper
Directions

1Remove and discard all heavy stems from the watercress.

2Rinse the watercress thoroughly, then dry it on paper towels or in a salad spinner.

3Put in a bowl.

4Rinse the strawberries and remove the hulls.

5If the berries are large, slice them.

6Otherwise, cut them into quarters.

7Add to the bowl with the watercress.

8Beat the vinegar and oil together, pour over the berries and watercress and toss.

9Season with pepper, toss again, then serve.
