- 2-refrigerated pie crusts-thawed to room temperature
- 4 potatoes- cut into thin half circles
- 1/2 pound beef-sliced thinly against the grain
- 1 small onion-sliced into thin half circles
- salt and fresh pepper
- 1 beaten egg
- softened butter-for serving
Directions

1Heat oven to 350F.

2Unroll crusts onto a greased cookie sheet.

3On each pie crust, place a layer of potatoes, one of onions, and beef strips on half the circle.

4Season with salt and pepper. Layer again with potato, onion and beef. Season again.

5Fold the pie crust over the potato/meat filling and crimp securely to seal the crust closed.

6Brush tops of the pastry with egg wash.

7Bake for 60 minutes.

8Serve with butter
