Wilted Lettuce

  • 1/2 head lettuce
  • 2 to 3 slices bacon
  • 4 oz. vinegar
  • 4 oz. water
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • salt
  • pepper

Directions

    Dice bacon and fry slowly until crisp.

    Mix vinegar and water together (in a glass).

    Add to bacon while still frying and bring to a slow boil.

    Break lettuce into small chunks; pour hot mixture of bacon over lettuce.

    Add salt, pepper and sugar to taste. Great side dish with Salmon Patties.
