  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon almond extract
  • 14 cup blanched unsalted almonds

Directions

    Mix dry ingredients in abowl.

    Cut in shortening with pastry cutter or a fork.

    Add beaten eggs and almond extract, stirring with a spoon until mixed.

    Preheat oven to 325*.

    Shape dough into balls the size of a large cherry.

    Place them on a greased cookie sheet.
