- 1 can asparagus, drained
- 1 can English peas, drained
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 4 slices bread
- 1/4 lb. cheese, grated
- 1 stick oleo
- 1 can water chestnuts, drained
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Place asparagus in 1 1/2-quart baking dish.

2Mix peas with mushroom soup and spread over asparagus.

3Add salt and pepper, then add chopped water chestnuts and grated cheese.

4Cut bread into four finger-length pieces, coating each slice in melted oleo and arrange over top of casserole.

5Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes until brown and bubbly.
