Ingredients

  • 1 stick Blue Bonnet, softened
  • 1/2 c. Crisco shortening
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. Angel Flake coconut
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. black walnuts, mixed with a little flour
  • 5 egg whites, beaten stuff, but not dry

Directions

    Mix the first 3 ingredients well and add the next 6 ingredients.

    Mix well and add remaining ingredients.

    Pout into 3 (9-inch) greased and floured (or sprayed) cake pans.

    Bake about 20 or 25 minutes.

    Frost with Seven Minute Frosting and 2 cups of black walnuts.
