  • 1 large bag hash browns, thawed
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. onion
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 c. sour cream
  • 1 (16 oz.) jar Cheez Whiz
  • Ritz cracker crumbs
  • butter topping

Directions

    In a Dutch oven, saute butter and onion.

    Add soup, sour cream and Cheez Whiz.

    Stir until blended over low heat.

    Add potatoes and keep on low heat until potatoes are well heated.

    Pour into a 10 x 15-inch glass pan.

    Crush 1 package Ritz crackers and brown in 1 stick of butter.

    Put on top of potato mixture.

    Bake at 350° for 40 minutes or until bubbly in center.
