- 1 (16 oz.) pkg. frozen unsweetened pitted tart red cherries
- 1 medium apple, cored and finely chopped (1 c.)
- 1/4 c. lemon juice
- 1 3/4 oz. pkg. regular powdered fruit pectin
- 5 c. sugar
Directions

1Finely chop frozen cherries, reserving juices (3 cups chopped fruit).

2In an 8 to 10-quart kettle or Dutch oven, combine cherries, reserved juice, apple and lemon juice.

3Add pectin; mix well.

4Bring mixture to a boil (full rolling boil); stir in sugar. Bring again to a full boil, stirring often.

5Boil hard, uncovered, 1 minute.

6Remove from heat; quickly skim off foam with a metal spoon.

7Makes 5 pints.
