Country Apple Pie

- 5 c. thinly sliced apples
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. light brown sugar
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 c. heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon mixed with 1 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1In an unbaked pie shell, arrange the apples closely.

2Mix together dry ingredients. Combine with cream and lemon juice. Pour over the apples. Sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place pie on a cookie sheet. Cover with foil and place in a 400° oven. After 30 minutes, remove foil.

3Lower oven temperature to 375° and continue baking 30 to 40 minutes longer until apples are tender and crust is brown.

4Can put crust on top, if desired.
