  • 3/4 lb Extra lean ground beef
  • 1 each Medium onion, chopped
  • 2 clove Garlic, minced
  • 1 can Stewed tomatoes (15oz)
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano leaves
  • 3/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 1 can Pinto beans

Directions

    Crumble ground beef into heavy pot.

    Add onion and garlic.

    Cook over high heat until meat is browned, about 10 min

    Add tomatoes, beef broth, chili powder, oregano,salt and cayenne.

    Cover, simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally

    Add beans

    Simmer 30 min more.

    Add water if chili becomes too thick

    Serve piping hot
