  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1/4 c. margarine (1 stick)
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 c. flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 4 eggs

Directions

    Bring water and sugar and margarine to a boil.

    Add baking powder and flour all at once and stir quickly until it becomes like a paste and comes away from the pot.

    Let it cool; when cooled add eggs, one at a time and beat after each addition.

    Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet.

    Bake at 450° for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350° and bake about 20 minutes or until golden color. After cooled, slice to prepare for filling.
