Ingredients
- 5 c. flour, plain
- 1 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 yeast cake or 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Mix flour, salt, and shortening.

2Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water, add egg.

3Gradually add flour and beat well.

4Let rise until double in bulk.

5Knead on floured surface.

6Roll dough 1/3 inch thick.

7Cut with cutter.

8Fold in half.
-
9Let rise again at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

10Bake at 425° until brown, about 15 - 20 minutes.

11Brush tops with margarine.

12Makes about 36 rolls.
