- 1 c. shortening
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1 Tbsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 Tbsp. soda, dissolved in vinegar
- 5 c. flour
- 1 level tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar.

2Add eggs, molasses, soda and vinegar.

3Add sifted flour, salt and spices.

4Roll thin on a pastry cloth.

5Bake in moderate oven at 375°.
