  • 1 c. butter and shortening (mixed)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. ginger
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • plain flour to make stiff dough

    roll in small balls and press on cookie sheet with fork.
