Ingredients

  • 4 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt (optional)
  • 1 3/4 c. milk (room temperature, if possible)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 stick butter, melted
  • 1 box raisins (2 c.), soaked in hot water

Directions

    Mix first 4 ingredients.

    Melt butter and mix with eggs and milk.

    Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients.

    Mix thoroughly. Pour into two greased and floured 8-inch pans.

    Bake in a preheated oven at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes depending on oven.
