  • 5 medium red cooking apples
  • 1 c. quick old-fashioned oats or corn flakes, uncooked
  • 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. milk or cream

    Pare, core and slice apples.

    Arrange in an ungreased shallow 2-quart baking dish.

    Combine oats, brown sugar, flour and salt. Cut in butter and sprinkle mixture over apples.

    Bake in preheated oven at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes or until brown and bubbly and apples are tender.

    Serve warm with milk or ice cream.
