  • 1 cup rice
  • 1/2 cup peas
  • 1 onion medium
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin and Garam Masala Powder
  • salt to Taste

Directions

    Chop the onion and tomato keep aside, wash rice and keep aside.

    Heat one teaspoon oil and add the mustard and cumin seeds let it splutter. Next add the onion and tomato, let it cook for two minutes add the black pepper, rice, salt and the cumin and garam masala powder. Stir rice. Add the water and let it cook till done.

    Dry roast the cumin till you get the aroma, cool and grind all the ingredients to a fine powder.
