Ingredients
- 1 1/4 quick cooking oats, uncooked
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 2/3 c. boiling water
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 eggs, beaten
- about 5 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter
- 1 Tbsp. quick oats to sprinkle on top of dough
Directions

1Combine first 5 ingredients, mixing well.

2Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water in large bowl.

3Let stand 5 minutes. Add oats mixture, eggs and 3 cups flour, mix well.

4Stir in enough of remaining flour to form soft dough.

5Knead 5 minutes, divide into 2 loaves in 2 well-greased 10-inch pie plates.

6Cover, let rise about 1 hour.

7Sprinkle oats on top after gently brushing with butter.

8Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
