- 1 c. butter (2 sticks)
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 2/3 c. ground almonds (ground walnuts may be substituted)
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg gradually.

3Stir in almonds and flour.

4Wrap in plastic and let rest in refrigerator for one hour.

5Remove from refrigerator and roll out into long cylinder, about 2 inches in diameter.

6Cut in 1/8-inch slices.

7Press out with a fork.

8Lay on ungreased cookie sheets and bake for 10 minutes until lightly browned around edges.

9Makes about 5 dozen.
