- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 2 c. quick oats
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. chocolate chips
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Butter an 8-inch pan. Combine butter and sugar.

3Heat.

4Stir until butter melts. Stir in oats, baking powder, vanilla and salt. Blend thoroughly.

5Spread evenly over bottom of pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove from oven.

6Let cool about 3 minutes. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. When melted, spread evenly over top. Cool and cut into bars.

7Makes 28 (1 x 2-inch) bars.
