- 1 lb. butter, unsalted
- 5 c. flour, unsifted
- 1 c. sugar
Directions

1Preheat oven to 275°.

2Grease 4 x 8-inch round cake pans or 1 (10 x 20-inch) pan, warm butter until it flows.

3In large mixing bowl, mix butter and sugar with beater at medium speed until light and fluffy.

4Mix in flour 1 cup at a time until well mixed.

5Pat evenly in pan or pans with hands.

6Prick dough with fork all over. Bake 1 hour or until pale and golden, do not brown.

7Cool in pans.
