- 1 lb. raw peeled and cleaned shrimp (fresh or frozen)
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1/3 c. melted fat or oil
- 1 c. hot water
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 c. chopped green onions and tops
- 1/2 c. chopped parsley
- 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
- 4 small cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. crushed whole thyme
- dash of cayenne pepper
- 2 whole bay leaves
- 1 lemon slice
- 2 c. rice
Directions

1Thaw frozen shrimp.

2Cut large shrimp in half.

3Blend flour into fat and brown, stirring constantly.

4Add water gradually and cook until thick and smooth, stirring constantly.

5Add remaining ingredients except rice.

6Cover and simmer 20 minutes.

7Remove bay leaves.

8Serve over cooked rice.
