  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 c. butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • milk

Directions

    Sift dry ingredients together.

    Put melted butter in a cup, add egg and add milk until it slops over the top of the cup.

    Add to dry ingredients and beat well.

    Turn into 2 greased 8-inch pans and bake at 375° to 400° for 25 to 30 minutes.
