- 1 German chocolate cake mix
- 14 to 16 oz. caramels
- 1 stick margarine
- 3/4 c. chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Prepare cake mix according to box instructions.

2Pour half of this mixture into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. (Don't flour pan.) This is the crust.

3Bake for 10 to 15 minutes at 350°.

4Meanwhile, melt caramels with margarine and milk.

5Pour over baked crust. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over caramel mixture.

6Spread remaining batter over top.

7Bake for 15 minutes at 350°, then bake for 5 minutes at 325°.
