- 2 c. whole milk
- 4 slightly beaten eggs
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- dash of salt
Directions

1Scald milk. Combine eggs with sugar and salt. Stir into the milk. Cook over gently simmering water, stirring constantly, with a metal spoon, until custard begins to thicken. Remove from heat. Stir in the vanilla.

2Turn into a bowl to cool, stirring occasionally, during the cooling period.
