Ingredients
- 1 c. split peas
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 12 oz. tomato juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 c. chopped cabbage
- 1/2 c. chopped carrots
- 1/2 c. diced potato
Directions

1Cook peas in 8 cups water.

2Bring to boil.

3Turn off and cover.

4Let sit 1 hour.

5Drain.

6Add 2 1/2 cups water, salt, pepper, tomato juice and garlic.

7Bring to boil.

8Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour.

9Now add cabbage, carrots and potato.

10Simmer covered 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender.

11Very low fat!
