Ingredients
- 2 c. split peas
- 1 ham bone
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. milk
- 3 qt. water
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
Directions

1Soak peas overnight in hot water.

2Drain; put in pot and cover with water.

3Add onions and ham bone.

4Cook until peas are tender. Remove bone; mash peas real good.

5Melt butter in saucepan. Blend in flour, salt and pepper.

6Remove from heat.

7Add milk, stirring constantly.

8Bring to boil.

9Cook 1 to 2 minutes.

10Blend in pea mixture.

11Heat thoroughly.

12Serve hot.
