White Bread Pudding

  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • dash of salt
  • 1 large can evaporated milk
  • 3 well-beaten eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. hot water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 6 slices white bread, toasted and cubed into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1/2 to 1 c. pecans

    Butter 9 x 13-inch baking dish; line bottom with toasted bread cubes.

    Sprinkle raisins and pecans over bread cubes.

    Mix sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt; add milk, eggs, hot water and vanilla. Pour over bread mixture in baking dish and bake at 375° for approximately 30 to 35 minutes, or until brown.
