Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. dried basil, crushed
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 2 tsp. salt, divided
  • 3/4 tsp. pepper, divided
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped mushrooms
  • 3 c. canned tomatoes
  • 2 - 6oz. cans tomato paste
  • 10oz. lasagna noodles, cooked & drained
  • 3 c. Ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. dried parsley flakes
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 8oz. Mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions

    Brown meats together, drain.

    Add garlic, basil, oregano, 1 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper, onion, mushrooms, tomatoes & tomato paste.

    Simmer uncovered 30 min. stirring occasionally.

    While noodles are cooking, combine Ricotta, Parmesan, parsley, eggs, remaining salt & pepper.

    Place half of noodles in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.

    Spread half each of Ricotta filling, mozzarella, then tomato sauce.

    Repeat layers.

    Bake at 375° for 30 minutes.

    Let stand for 10 - 15 min. before serving.
