Ingredients

  • 1 medium onions
  • 3 each garlic cloves
  • 1 cup split peas
  • 1/2 cup lentils
  • 2 1/2 cups hibiscus leaves edible, torn into 2 inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup zucchini chopped
  • 1 cup carrots diced
  • 1/2 cup celery diced
  • 1/2 cup eggplant diced
  • 3 large basil fresh
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 x hot chili peppers or hot sauce

Directions

    Saute onions and garlic in water until starting to turn yellow, add all other ingredients in a large pot with 2 1/2 cups of water and bring to a boil.

    Reduce heat, simmer an hour (or until peas are tender) and then puree in a blender.
