Ingredients
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 piece ginger, finely chopped
- 5 green chilli, chopped
- 1 handful curry leaves
- 1 cup fried semolina
- 1 1/2 cup water
- as needed Salt
- 1 pinch turmeric(optional)
- 1 spoon mustard seed
- 3 tablespoon ghee
Directions

1Heat ghee in a pan.

2Add mustard seeds

3When the mustards splutter, add curry leaves, ginger, onion, and green chillies

4When the onion turns brown, add required salt, then add water and allow it to boil.

5When the water comes to a rolling boil, lower the flame to its lowest.

6Then add the semolina in 4 to 5 batches with a spoon.

7Once you add the semolina, stir immediately then add the next batch of semolina.

8Stir again and this way keep on adding and stirring the semolina up to the last batch.Quickly stir and mix well.

9The grains absorb water and thus swell and get cooked.

10Cover and allow the semolina upma to steam for 2 minutes on the low flame.then swtich off the flame.

11here the semolina is cooked and the upma is ready.
