  • 4 lb. frying chicken, cut up
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. celery salt
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/3 c. shortening or 3 to 4 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 small onion, sliced

    Shake chicken in seasonings; fry in medium heat.

    Transfer to a Dutch oven.
