  • 1 1/2 c. apricot nectar
  • 1/3 c. raisins
  • 2 3/4 c. plain flour
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. nuts
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. salad oil or shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. dried apricots, cut
  • 1/2 Tbsp. dehydrated orange peel or 1 Tbsp. fresh orange peel
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg

    Grease and flour 3 (1-pound) coffee cans.

    Mix in saucepan apricot nectar, apricots, raisins and orange peel.

    Simmer for 5 minutes; set aside to cool.
